Welcome to the 2011 Season! Fairport Pop Warner is celebrating its 40th year and Fundraising Director Jen Gaudioso has some new ideas this year to assure our players and cheerleaders have the best available equipment and uniforms! Without our fundraising efforts we would not be able to make that possible.
A common question is, where does the money go? It costs approximately $450 to properly equip each football player and $200 to provide the highest quality uniforms and warm ups for our cheerleaders. Every year we replace damaged, aging equipment and uniforms that is very costly to purchase. Our fundraising efforts also go towards insurance, league fees, field usage, gym usage, and game day officials.
The league requires us to do one mandatory fundraiser and we choose to have our raffle tickets as ours because it gives the families a chance to recoup their money. Below is a list of our upcoming fundraising events for the 2011 season:
At anytime during the season or off season you would like to offer assistance or have any new ideas, please contact Jen Gaudioso at jeng2@frontiernet.net or 755-2366.
As part of our competitive squads, we offer a variety of fundraising opportunities to offset the cost of travel. We encourage full participation in all fundraisers, and all proceeds shall be equally dispersed among the participants from each squad. The fundraisers are as follows:
1. Car Wash – each squad (Jr.PeeWee, PeeWee, and Jr.Midget) will have their own site for their car wash. The car washes are held in August on a Saturday morning. All cheerleaders are encouraged to participate. Parent volunteers are also always needed.
2. Bottle/Can Drive – each competitive squad will be collecting bottles and cans to be recycled. The bottle and can drive is usually held in Oct on a weekend. All cheerleaders are encouraged to participate. Parent volunteers are also always needed.
3. Clothesline Arts Festival – there will be a tent selling snacks and drinks to people walking to and from the festival. It will be in front of Artwalk Tile Inc. on 28 Atlantic Ave. All proceeds will go towards participants from the competitive squads. The Clothesline Arts Festival is usually in September on a weekend.
4. Additional Fundraising – in the event that a competitive squad makes it to Nationals in Florida, we will provide additional fundraising opportunities to be discussed at a later date.
